Young researchers make great contributions to the achievements of the university. Annually young scientists win 14 % of the grants for internships and 8-10 % of the grants for participation in international conferences on National Support Programme – "Integration" .
All in all, 215 TSU projects have been awarded grants. For the last five years 7 TSU students and young scientists have been awarded Medals of Russian Academy of Science, 1 person - Medal of Russian Academy of Medicine Science, 46 people received Medals and 120 received Certificates of RF Ministry of Education for "The Best Student Research Paper".

11 students won State Scientific Scholarships and 3 young Doctors and 4 Candidates of Sciences have been awarded RF President Grants.

There are many RF President and RF Government Scholarship (Grant) winners, Academician B.V. Raushenbach Scholarschip winners, Academician V.I.Vernadsky Scholarship winners, Russian and Foreign Foundations Grant winners among TSU young scholars. Many students have won All-Russian, Regional and local contests and Olympiads.

In 1998 a Youth Center was established at TSU to assist young scholars. The main objectives of the Youth Center are:

• to select and assist gifted and talented youth



• to coordinate the initiative of students, young scientists and youth organizations



• to encourage young scientists to participate in scientific programs and contests



• to hold Olympiads in various subjects on a school, university and all-Russia level



• to involve students in participation in Best Student Research Paper Contests



• to interact with the Boards of Grant-awarding Programs



• to inform young people about programs and contests



• to render assistance in filling in forms and preparing documents for programs.
